Flat roofing
Flat roofs on extensions, garages, dormers, and bay windows are one of the most common roofing jobs in the North West. We install and repair all flat roof types:
- GRP fibreglass — seamless, rigid, walkable. 20–25 year guarantee. Ideal for larger areas and balcony roofs
- EPDM rubber — flexible membrane, fast to install. 20+ year guarantee. Perfect for smaller areas, bay tops, and dormers
- Built-up felt — traditional system suitable for budget repairs. 10–15 year lifespan
- All flat roofs include proper falls, drainage, and edge trims for long-term performance

Storm damage & insurance repairs
The North West sees some of the UK's worst weather. High winds, driving rain, and winter storms regularly damage roofs across Greater Manchester and Lancashire. We provide:
- Emergency make-safe work — temporary weatherproofing within 24–48 hours to prevent further damage
- Full photographic damage reports for your insurance claim, with itemised repair costs
- Direct liaison with your insurer if needed — we know what information they require
- Complete storm damage restoration — from replacing blown tiles to rebuilding chimney stacks
- No upfront costs on approved insurance claims — we invoice the insurer directly where agreed

Planning solar? Get your roof ready first
Solar panels are designed to last 25–30 years. If your roof needs repairs or replacement within that timeframe, you'd face the costly process of removing panels (£1,000–£2,000), fixing the roof, and reinstalling them. That's why we assess and prepare your roof first.
A solar-ready roof means properly installed battens, a high-quality breathable membrane, sound structural timbers, and secure fixings for panel mounting brackets. Getting this right from the start protects your investment.
Roof Assessment
We inspect your roof's condition, structure, and orientation to determine what work is needed — whether that's a simple repair, a full replacement, or solar preparation.
Clear Quote
You receive an itemised quote with no hidden costs. For insurance work, we provide a detailed scope of works for your insurer.
Repair or Replace
Any damaged tiles, worn felt, rotten battens, or structural issues are addressed. If a full re-roof is needed, we handle that too.
Completion & Guarantee
Your roof is left watertight, clean, and guaranteed. If you're going solar, we can proceed straight to panel installation with our MCS-certified team.
Could you get funding for roof repairs?
If your household income is under £32,000 and you own your home in Greater Manchester or Lancashire, you may qualify for up to £2,000 towards essential roof repairs through the Local Residents Scheme. We handle the paperwork and coordinate the work.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a roof replacement take?
A full re-roof on a typical 3-bed semi takes 3–5 working days in good weather. Repairs are usually completed in 1–2 days. We always aim to leave your roof watertight at the end of each working day.
Do I need scaffolding?
Yes, for most work above single-storey height. Scaffold is included in all our quotes — we never charge it as a hidden extra. It's typically erected the day before work begins and removed within 48 hours of completion.
Can you work with my insurance company?
Yes. We regularly handle insurance claims for storm, wind, and water damage across Greater Manchester and Lancashire. We provide detailed photographic reports and itemised scopes of work that insurers accept. We can also carry out emergency make-safe work while your claim is processed.
What's the difference between GRP and EPDM flat roofing?
GRP (fibreglass) is a rigid, seamless system best for larger flat areas and walkable surfaces — it carries a 20–25 year guarantee. EPDM rubber is a flexible membrane ideal for smaller areas like bay tops, dormers, and porches — also 20+ year guarantee but slightly lower cost.
Should I fix my roof before getting solar panels?
If your roof is over 15 years old or has any known issues, yes. Solar panels last 25–30 years, and removing them later for roof repairs is costly (£1,000–£2,000 for removal and reinstallation). We can assess both your roof and solar suitability in a single visit.
Do you offer a guarantee on roofing work?
Yes. All our roofing work comes with a minimum 10-year workmanship guarantee. Materials carry their own manufacturer warranties — typically 15–30 years for tiles, 20–25 years for GRP flat roofing, and 20 years for EPDM. Solar preparation work is covered under both our roofing and MCS installation guarantees.
Do I need planning permission for a new roof?
Replacing like-for-like (same materials, same profile) is permitted development and doesn't need planning permission. If you're changing materials (e.g. slate to tile) or altering the roofline, check with your local council — especially in conservation areas.
